Billy Bob Thornton w niezwykle zakręconej roli komediowej w wielkim przeboju reżysera Szkoły Rocka. Morris Buttermaker (Thornton), były zawodowy baseballista, otrzymuje szansę na zarobienie łatwych pieniędzy. Ma zająć się trenowaniem zawodników Niedźwiadków, najsłabszej drużyny Małej Ligi.

Niestety, jego podopieczni to nie zawodnicy, ale banda nieudaczników, którzy boisko marzeń zamienili w pole koszmarów! Wyśmiewany przez trenera konkurenta (Greg Kinnear), naciskany przez pracodawcę (Marcia Gay Harden) i zdołowany przez Niedźwiadki Buttermaker musi podjąć wyzwanie i zmienić bandę niezdyscyplinowanych graczy w coś, o czym nie mają bladego pojęcia: w idealną drużynę.
