"Simply" Romek Puchowski :
Master workshop, virtuoso precision, liberty and improvization. Return to
the source of blues and at the same time modern, individual creation of its
contemporary visage. Here dominates simplicity, spontaneity, charisma
and energy. It is lyrical and cheerful, atmospheric and predacious.
"Simply" is a voice, instrument and two microphones. Just that, but it is
enough. Romek Puchowski recorded in studio fourteen tracks - live,
without any montage or edition. Not many musicians in our times affords
such a move! Thanks to "live" recording "Simply" is like a direct meeting
with musician, with human. On the record we will find eleven pre-war,
classical songs, folk and blues themes and three Puchowskis� compositions.
Here dominates simplicity, spontaneity, charisma and energy. Human
voice, magical sound of DOBRO guitar and acoustic guitar. It is lyrical
and cheerful, atmospheric and predacious.. "Simply", means "po prostu"...
Pulsating subcutaneously predatory combined with improvization, master
workshop and virtuoso precision. This is just how the first solo record of
Romek Puchowski, lider of the Von Zeit group and one of leading polish
bluesman, look like. "Simply" is an unusual record, since only there can
two apparently remote worlds meet: alterantive and blues. These two
spaces are being occupied by Puchowski, who benefits from heritage of
black musicians from Delta and unhumble liders of alternative music.
Return to the source of blues and at the same time modern, individual
creation of its contemporary visage.
